Awesome mod!
Definitely better than the Game Changer – which is a decent device but The Shiv TOTALLY knocks it out!
I prefer ‘proper’ size mods and The Shiv caught my eye because it’s exactly that.
Substantially weighty but comfy in my hand. The weight doesn’t bother me, I only vape Woodies CBD at home – it’s too precious to share with the outside world!
It’s very tactial, smooth but not cold. Almost feels silicone-y but not soft. Difficult to describe but just OH-SO comfy to use!
Basic screen but is clear and bright and tells me all I need to know.
Cute shark(?) like design on screen too.
The box it’s packaged in screams DELUXE, includes very easy to read instructions.
Unfortunately it took me a while to work out how to attach the cartridge, once I got it is very obvious…..slide ‘switch’ up!! Entirely down to me that was…..
Yes, The Shiv is expensive (most I have ever spent on a vape mod!) But the quality is worth it. I could have used one of my (many) other mods but I wanted to have a dedicated device, purely for my Woodies cartridges.
If an external battery powered Shiv was available I’d buy that as I prefer 18650/21700 mods. However, I don’t regret buying this one at all.
Very grateful to Woodies for the Easter discount which I used when I brought my Shiv.

By far the best battery I have ever bought and used. I am not a die-hard vaper, and havent spent a fortune on lots of mods. But, I know what I want and this is it. 1. Classy looking and discreet, the switchblade style (hence the name shiv) mechanism allows for carts to be protected and not cracked like Ive had in the past. The size is also nice and tidy in my pocket.
2. Quality build – The shiv is a little weighty, but in a nice way. It feels solid and reliable.
The mecahinsm has a safefty which can make you feel panicked because it really does look like you have broken it, but it isnt, it needs resetting by gently pulling the cart up whilst still attached and the mechanism will get back on the rails. Email Hamilton direct and they will send you a video showing how to reset it ( I cant find it as a public video on youtube).
3 – Low temps and variability – The ability to go down 2v allows for nice low temps for those who may be sensitive and cough prone when the vape catched your throat. Also allowing for a nice terpy taste. But then, it can also go up to 3.8v for a more cloudy rich hit for pros who maybe want a more smokers feel.
Oh, and it also feels and functions like a dry herb vaporiser, maybe like the Fury. Variable voltage can be changed with the button and theres a puff counter.
I will definitely buy another one of these when I need a new battery.

Oh one thing to add. The woodies carts are too wide to fit the hole of the Shiv. The thinner 510 carts on the pen style woodies vapes do, but the nicer looking white cartridges dont.
